BellCount ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the BellCount mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide when you use the Service, including:

  • Contact information voluntarily provided when communicating with support
  • Workout data including session logs, rep counts, and exercise records
  • User preferences and app settings
  • Communications you send to our support team

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Device information (model, operating system, unique identifiers)
  • Usage data and app interaction logs
  • Crash reports and diagnostic data

1.3 Camera and Sensor Data

BellCount uses your device's camera to detect and count exercise repetitions. Camera data is processed on-device in real time and is not stored on our servers, transmitted to third parties, or retained after processing. Camera data is only stored locally on your device when you choose to record a session, and it is not shared with third parties unless you explicitly choose to export a video.

BellCount may also connect to compatible Bluetooth heart rate sensors and chest straps to collect heart rate data during training sessions. This data is processed locally and used solely for workout tracking and performance analysis within the app.

Exported videos remain under the user's control and are only stored or shared when the user explicitly chooses to save or distribute them.

1.4 Health and Fitness Data

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Apple Watch, or compatible heart rate sensors, BellCount may access fitness and workout data such as heart rate, workout sessions, and related fitness metrics.

This data is used solely to provide workout tracking, analysis, and training features within the app.

Health data is never sold, used for advertising purposes, or shared with third parties without your explicit consent.

BellCount does not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing health and fitness functionality.

You can manage BellCount's access to Apple Health at any time through your iPhone's Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Personalize your experience and improve app functionality
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
  • Send you administrative communications and app updates
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve features
  • Synchronize your training history, templates, and settings across your Apple devices through iCloud and CloudKit
  • Provide Apple Watch and health-related workout features, including heart rate tracking and wrist-based session control
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Apple Services Integration

BellCount integrates with the following Apple services to deliver its core functionality:

  • Apple HealthKit:Used to read and write workout and fitness data when you grant permission. Governed by Apple's HealthKit guidelines, which prohibit use of health data for advertising or sale to third parties.
  • Apple Watch (watchOS): Used to provide session controls, rep count display, and haptic feedback directly on your wrist.
  • iCloud / CloudKit:Used to synchronize your training history, session data, templates, and app settings across your Apple devices. Data synchronized through iCloud and CloudKit is stored within your Apple iCloud account and protected by Apple's security infrastructure. Users may disable iCloud synchronization at any time through the app settings or their Apple device settings. Data stored in iCloud is subject to Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy.
  • Compatible Bluetooth Heart Rate Sensors: BellCount supports compatible Bluetooth heart rate monitors and chest straps. Data from these devices is used only for in-session heart rate tracking and is not transmitted to our servers.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the Service (e.g., analytics, crash reporting), subject to confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Section 9.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Users and GDPR

The Service is operated from Spain and the European Union. Your information may be processed in the European Union or in other countries where our service providers operate. We take appropriate steps to ensure your data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local data protection laws, including:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page or through in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
